A home inspired by a wild beach

Patricia Bustos has done it again, her “Casa Ola” is a unique and different house, inspired by the sea and nature. Despite being located in an urbanization near Madrid, once you enter the house full of curves and elements, you feel as if you were on a wild beach.

Natural materials, such as the mix of beach sand, marble, wood and handcrafted ceramics, help create a feeling of joy and vitality.

The objective was to create a house designed to be open and enveloping in order to promote communication and encounters between the people who inhabit it.

The design of “Casa Ola” is influenced by great architects such as Sáenz de Oiza, Antti Lovag and Gaudí. The entrance of the house imitates a wave, with polycarbonate walls and a ceiling illuminated with RGB LED lights. The living room is spacious and bright, with large windows that overlook a field of palm trees with iridescent lights that change color depending on the time of day. The walls and coverings are made of beach sand microcement.

The kitchen and other architectural elements are covered with handmade ceramics, and the entire space is connected, but at the same time it can be divisible through delicate lattice veils.

Patricia’s bathroom includes two Dinan sinks that provide more personal space, more comfort and practicality.

In general, “Casa Ola” is a sinuous and feminine space, which respects the organic shapes of nature and encourages harmony between architecture and furniture. As a result, a house is achieved that invites trust, privacy and harmony with the environment that surrounds it.
