A house with sea views that is filled with light

With privileged views of the Cantabrian Sea, this home in Santander was completely transformed by Natalia Zubizarreta’s studio. The project encompassed everything from the redesign of the spaces to the final decoration, with a clear focus: amplifying natural light and achieving serene elegance through fine materials, soft colors, and bespoke design.

The renovation opened up views between rooms, improving functionality and allowing light to flow through. In the living room, a solid oak bookcase surrounds the fireplace and hides the television behind sliding doors, creating a clean and tidy appearance. Facing the large window, the sofas are arranged around a chaise longue that invites you to pause and gaze at the landscape. White-painted moldings run along the walls, adding volume and character without being too strident.

The kitchen was partially enclosed with a glass structure, allowing for additional storage without sacrificing a sense of spaciousness. In the bedroom, natural textiles and a calming palette reinforce the sense of rest.

In the master bathroom, the carefully crafted combination of textures stands out. Atop an aged wood cabinet sits the Bathco Dual natural stone washbasin, a piece with organic shapes and a handcrafted finish that lends visual weight and authenticity. The space is covered with powder-toned wallpaper that adds warmth without being overwhelming. The mirror and soft lighting complete the sophisticated ambiance with a natural soul.

The result is a carefully designed home that embraces light and celebrates the balance between classic and contemporary.
