In the center of Bilbao, the studio Ignacio Agudo Interior Design<\/strong><\/a> signs an integral reform where modernization coexists with the original essence of the house. The project is developed on 110 m\u00b2, with a distribution that remains faithful to the original design, but adapted to current needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the main challenges was to improve the entry of natural light in a north-facing house. To this end, we opted for white walls<\/strong> and the restoration of the elondo wood flooring<\/strong>, whose reddish, blond and brown tones bring warmth back to the space. The result is a luminous and welcoming atmosphere, without renouncing the character of the antique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tradition and detail<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The refurbishment enhances the value of historic elements: the jambs carved with \u201ceguzkilores\u201d.\u201d<\/strong> -a typical flower of the Basque culture-, the cast iron radiators<\/strong> and the original doors<\/strong>, which were replicated respecting their unusual height. Also, the archway to the living-dining room<\/strong> and the new cornices<\/strong> reinforce the personality of the house, integrating the new and the old in the same language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lighting<\/strong> has been worked on with special attention. A combination of ambient, spot and accent lighting<\/strong> allows you to create different scenes depending on the time of day, bringing comfort and warmth to each space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bathroom maintains the same aesthetic coherence as the rest of the project, conveying a general sense of calm. For the washbasin, we chose the model Dinan<\/a><\/strong> from natural porcelain<\/strong> by Bathco, a piece that fits perfectly with the mix of tradition and contemporary design that defines this home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
