At Bathco, we demonstrate this with every piece that comes out of our <a href=\"https:\/\/atelier.thebathcollection.com\/\">Atelier<\/a>, the artistic workshop where the sinks are transformed into unique works of art through the manual intervention of our artists. A clear example is the washbasin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebathcollection.com\/en\/producto\/washbasins\/porcelana\/atelier\/dobra-circular-chocolateoro.html\/\">Dobra<\/a>, The decoration is entirely handmade using traditional techniques with ceramic pigments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"How the Dobra washbasin is made | Hand-painted in Bathco&#039;s Atelier\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/klhp4l44fdA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A porcelain washbasin as a canvas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The process begins with the application of a base coat in chocolate tones that covers the entire exterior surface of the basin, in its purest state: <strong>unglazed porcelain<\/strong>. This layer, rich in nuances, is applied with careful brushstrokes that respect the drying rate and properties of the ceramic glaze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using brushes and sponges, the artists apply <strong>liquid ceramic pigments<\/strong> carefully prepared. These pigments are formulated to react to the heat of the oven, which means that the final appearance is not visible at the time of application.<br>In this phase, different tones are combined which, after firing, will give rise to a rich range of browns, golds and warm shades that characterize the chocolate\/gold model.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thebathcollection.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/00469-DOBRA-CIRCULAR-NEGRO-ENVEJECIDO_02-scaled-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8227\" style=\"width:536px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transformation in the oven<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the painting work has been completed, the washbasin goes into the oven. There, at extremely high temperatures, the magic happens: the pigments react to the heat, vitrify and reveal their definitive color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is at this point that the design acquires its true identity. The combination of the chocolate with the reflections creates a striking visual effect, which gains even more strength under the light. Although a basic design is respected, the manual technique means that each piece has slight variations that make it exclusive.
