{"id":5346,"date":"2011-10-16T00:46:08","date_gmt":"2011-10-16T00:46:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebathcollection.com\/inspiration\/la-nueva-catedral-del-futbol\/"},"modified":"2025-10-15T09:21:01","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T09:21:01","slug":"la-nueva-catedral-del-futbol","status":"publish","type":"inspiration","link":"https:\/\/www.thebathcollection.com\/en\/inspiration\/la-nueva-catedral-del-futbol\/","title":{"rendered":"The new soccer cathedral"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>El antiguo estadio del <strong>Athletic Club de Bilbao<\/strong> con m\u00e1s de 100 a\u00f1os de antig\u00fcedad, sede de uno de los grandes clubes del f\u00fatbol europeo y conocido como \u201cla catedral del f\u00fatbol\u201d, da paso a un nuevo estadio reconocido en el World Congress Stadium 2015 en Qatar.<\/p>\n<p>Situado pr\u00e1cticamente en el mismo lugar que el antiguo, el nuevo estadio que cuenta con rango de estadio de categor\u00eda 4 -el m\u00e1ximo otorgado por la UEFA-, se construy\u00f3 en en dos fases, de tal manera que permitiese al equipo no tener que disputar partidos fuera de casa.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>La ubicaci\u00f3n del nuevo estadio como final del <strong>proyecto urbano del Ensanche de Bilbao<\/strong>, asom\u00e1ndose de manera privilegiada sobre la R\u00eda, convierte al\u00a0edificio en una pieza arquitect\u00f3nica que se manifiesta con fuerza y rotundidad pero a la vez con respeto hacia el resto de las edificaciones que completan esa zona de la ciudad.
