A couple with two young children wanted to renovate their home in the center of Madrid with the goal of making better use of the space by redistributing the rooms. To achieve this, they enlisted the help of B+J Architects<\/a><\/strong> and Trace Projects.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below you can see the renovation process of this project, which focused on achieving a more open, usable space with fewer partitions and more available square meters. To achieve this, it was based on two very specific keys: luminosity and habitability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The architect from B+J Architects, Juan Fdez.-Tur\u00e9gano P\u00e9rez, explains that \u201cIn this comprehensive renovation, the main focus was on opening up the space and \u00abdeconstructing\u00bb the existing hallway, breaking the corner of the kitchen with a glass partition. Details such as the shadow skirting board, the exposed concrete beams found during construction, the sink integrated into the dressing room, and the floor-level lighting make this home a unique project.<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kitchen and dining room<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The intention was for the kitchen to be an independent space but without sacrificing the hallway's brightness, which is why a glass louver<\/strong> with black frames that allow for a visual opening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The door provides access to an open space designated for dining. Here you can see the common denominators of all the rooms in the house: the oak of the floors and carpentry, the white of the walls, and the black details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
