On Friday, July 17, Jesús Ferreiro, president of the Titanic Foundation, and José López, manager of Bathco, signed an agreement at the offices of the bathroom product manufacturing company, through which various initiatives will be carried out to maintain the historical, maritime, and human memory of the most famous shipwreck and the most legendary of historical vessels.
Given Santander's company's connection to the aquatic world, Bathco's initial idea is to manufacture, in the Cantabrian capital, a replica of the first and second-class bathrooms from the “ship of dreams.” These will include sinks, furniture, faucets, and other accessories that will be exhibited in more than seventy countries where the company operates under the name “Bathco."Titanic Collection by Bathco”.
This ship was created by the British shipping company White Star Line, founded in 1845. The company had the ambition to create the largest ship in history at that time, a forward-thinking venture that learned from its mistakes and achieved great success.
One hundred and seventy years later, Bathco presents an equally ambitious goal for 2016, in partnership with the Titanic Foundation. They aim to bring the reconstruction of the world's most famous grand vessel to Santander's waters so that the people of Cantabria and the general public can enjoy this grand production. This is a complicated endeavor, as the foundation already has exhibitions booked until 2020, but no calm seas ever made a sailor an expert.
The Titanic Foundation
The objective for which this foundation is born is to safeguard the historical memory of the maritime shipwreck that is not only the most publicized in universal history but also the sinking that has contributed the most to the continuous updating of maritime rescue methods and safety of human life at sea.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of England and Northern Ireland, President François Hollande of the French Republic, President Barack Obama of the United States of North America, President Clive Palmer of Blue Star Line (TITANIC II), and President Vicente Zaragüeta of the San Sebastián Aquarium and exemplary dean of European Aquariums, form the roll of honor of the only non-profit foundation working to preserve the memory of the vessel.
