The male and female students of the Juan XXIII centers in Santander – belonging to the association AMPROS– and Fernando Arce from Torrelavega visited the company's facilities and learned about the creation process of the bathroom products made by the artists who work there.
During the sessions on May 8th and 11th, students learned about the sink and sanitary ware collections available in Bathco's catalog, as well as each and every one of the materials they work with and the creative possibilities they allow.
Next, they toured the Atelier to get a firsthand look at the work being done; manual decal application, Swarovski crystal inlay, development of hand-painted pieces, creation of volumetric porcelain pieces for mural creation, etc.
Furthermore, they became artists for a day, using different pigments that they mixed themselves with water and oils to apply to the ceramics. The result has been a series of tiles that have acted as a canvas for colorful and very interesting works.
To conclude, all the students were able to practice the screen-printing technique by transferring ink through a mesh.
Bathco Atelier is an initiative that links the world of art with the ceramics and bathroom decoration sector. Artists generate ideas, work on new designs, create, and experiment with the possibilities offered by paints and their fusion with other materials: iron particles, sandstones, crystals, etc.
At the Bathco Atelier, ad hoc projects are developed where artistic intervention goes beyond the sink itself to completely envelop spaces through the creation of ceramic murals. Architects, interior designers, or designers have the opportunity to work directly with the Atelier's artists to produce murals or pieces fully adapted to the conceptual needs of each project.
