Bathco Atelier artists transform the bathrooms at La Consentida

Studio San Fernando creates La Consentida, an exclusive, fun space with lots of music and afternoon parties in the city of Santander.

In October 2021, this establishment located in the Plaza del Cuadro of the Cantabrian capital began its story, presenting itself as a meeting place for people who want to enjoy a great atmosphere. La Consentida is designed so that «you live moments you'll never want to end. We offer you afterwork afternoons, wines on the terrace, or drinks to the rhythm of music.» Much attention was paid to the terrace, where the Vertex, África, and Adan collections from the Spanish firm Vondom can be seen.

Carmen González, Creative Director of Studio San Fernando, explains how they approached this project: «It's a space with its own voice. Sometimes when you encounter a project, the space itself speaks to you, and this is a space that, when we saw it, it spoke. It spoke very clearly because it's a beautiful space, very well-defined, and it fit very well with the proposals the owners requested from us. La Consentida is a special place.».

The owners of the venue were very clear about what they wanted. «They come from the hospitality world and had other venues where we had worked, but they were different types of hospitality venues: hotels, pubs, etc. They were looking for something totally different with a very strong personality, something that wasn't trendy but rather, as I said before, very personalized, a venue very different from any they were already accustomed to.».

For the bathrooms, the Studio San Fernando team was looking for something different and groundbreaking and recalled Bathco's proposal at Cevisama 2019: luminescent pigments that glow in the dark and fit this type of establishment. For this reason, they met with the artists at Bathco Atelier to launch a tailor-made project.

The interior designer always looks for unique, exclusive, and spectacular materials and tells us that «Atelier artists, like all artists, have that degree of madness and even surpass what you propose, great synergies are created. It's true that when we have special projects, we count on Bathco because they always add value and never say no to what you propose, and the lighting effects... I remember that three years ago at the Cevisama fair, in the Bathco stand, there was a beautiful sink with drawings and luminous pigments that stuck in my head.».

Regarding lighting, which is so important when working with light pigments, the creative director highlights the importance of working with professionals. «We always work with the same electricians for this type of venue and we look for a solution to get the most out of those lighting effects that were incorporated into the sinks, walls, and everything we did there.».

In the girls' bathroom, two Dinan CRU sinks painted with graffiti by Bathco Atelier artists can be seen, while in the boys' bathroom, we see the Brussels suspended sink and the New Ronda toilet. Hisbalit mosaics can also be found there.
