Winners of the contest held with the Polytechnic University of Madrid visit Bathco facilities
In March 2020, Bathco presented students of the Interior Design Degree from the Polytechnic University of Madrid A competition within the Projects II subject that consisted of developing a bathroom area in the garden of a single-family home.

Thanks to the initiative of Professor María Martín-Escanciano from the study Martín Escanciano Architects The students were proposed a project that was to include various areas related to water and leisure time: “The client wanted to incorporate a water area into her garden to relax after work or sports, or to spend time with family and friends.”.
After the project submissions, a jury composed of Bathco members evaluated the projects, taking into account “the connection between the bathroom/garden/housing areas, with special attention to the interior-exterior relationship,” and decided that the winners were: NOJAthco by María García Fernández, Zona de baños by Nuria del Rey Hernández, and Copper House – exterior bathroom – by Sergio García González.
Yesterday, January 13, 2022, the winners visited the facilities of the company specialized in the bathroom sector. The interior design students were shown the showroom where they could see pieces from the general catalog The Shape of Water, as well as MATERIA's most special references.
They also experienced firsthand all the possibilities offered by Bathco Atelier and that they will be able to apply to their future projects: hand-painted porcelain pieces, decorated with decals, or sculptural pieces for bathrooms or any other room. They themselves became artists for a day, painting miniature sinks freehand with ceramic pigments that will be vitrified during the firing process.
Next, they visited the finishing workshop where different treatments are applied to the wood and stone references to make them completely waterproof, and they toured the company's logistics warehouse from which merchandise is distributed nationally and internationally.
Finally, they were able to see an example of a space transformed by the artists of Bathco Atelier, the restaurant La Voladora, which features a hand-painted mural in the main dining room and embellished restrooms. Click here to see the full project.
