Bathco sinks on major vessels

The good weather has arrived and it already smells like summer and sea salt. We're starting to think about our vacation spot. Are we going back to last year's destination? Are we going to the family home? Are we looking for something different? Wherever it is, it's very likely that we picture ourselves under the sun, with a cold beer, and if it's on the stern of a boat with the wind in our faces, even better.

If we think about a luxury vacation, a boat trip is sure to be included. It might be because of the independence it allows you to take the helm and sail as far from the coast as you want, or because of the feeling of disconnection when traveling to new places.

The fact is that sailing is a pleasure, and shipyards that build vessels designed for the comfort of the crew take care of that. But it's not an easy task to outfit ferries, yachts, and catamarans due to the limited spaces, humidity, and technical constraints.

To make the most of the space, custom-made furniture that facilitates storage and smaller pieces are chosen. It is also important to consider the lack of natural light, which is why light tones that bring luminosity are usually chosen, as well as natural woods that do not overload the atmosphere.

The main shipyards are aware of all this. Astondoa Yachts, De Antonio Yachts, Oliver Design, and C-Catamarans open their hatches for us to enjoy some time on board.

Subtle and powerful

The Astondoa Yachts 377 Coupe bursts onto the sea, displaying a profile that is both subtle and powerful. From the shipyard located in Santa Pola, they comment that “this is the smallest model in the Coupe range, and its version as a tender is undoubtedly attractive, with aesthetics based on very elegant, sporty lines that inherit the luxurious qualities typical of Astondoa, adapted to new trends and current tastes.”.

Sturdy, striking stairs lead to the owner's cabin with its own bathroom, where Bathco's Solid Surface Trieste sink has been installed on a black marble countertop and custom-made wooden furniture that makes the most of every inch.

Seductive and glamorous

While there are several models in De Antonio Yachts' catalog, it can be said that the D46 Cruiser is the most seductive and glamorous, setting the trend for the future of yachting.

It's “a motorboat that dazzles from beginning to end.” The interior is spacious like the Open version and offers the option of one, two, or three cabins where space is optimized. In the bathrooms, a custom-made wooden vanity holds the Baviera sink from Bathco, part of the mini porcelain collection designed for small spaces.

Monumental dimensions

If your thing is to get on board, forget about everything, and let yourself go, embarking on a ferry is another good option, and Oliver Design knows that very well. They are a company specializing in naval design and architecture that has designed and equipped three of Trasmediterranea's ferries.

Oliver Design modernized the common areas of the ferry Ciudad de Ibiza in record time, equipping over 1000 square meters of facilities for both passengers and crew in just 20 days while the ship was in operation, which presented a significant logistical challenge. This is similar to what they did on the Sorolla and Fortuny. In all three, they included the Oporto corner sink, which optimizes cabin space.

Comfortable and sporty

C- Catamarans has been internationally known since 1971 for producing monohulls between 21 and 100 feet at the Fiumicino shipyard, west of Rome, on the banks of the Tiber River. Now, it is launching a new, more ambitious 48-foot model, the C-CAT 48.

Designer François Perus designed this boat with a focus on the onboard features: metalwork, woodwork, and fittings… Specifically, the interior features customizable finishes designed for a comfortable and sporty lifestyle.

To furnish the bathroom, they considered wood as the standout material and soft colors to bring light to the small space. In this context, the Lucca sink from Bathco, part of the Solid Surface + Wood collection, fits perfectly. This collection combines the velvety touch of Solid Surface in white with birch wood, used in boat manufacturing and turned by the expert hands of Cantabrian cabinetmakers.

See you on the high seas.
