Sunday afternoon is a time for relaxed lunches with friends and family, which linger and end at sunset with the Asturian origins of the interior designer in the background. The designer says it's a proposal “brutalist, very slate and metal, very northern”.
For its development, it has relied on the work of artists from a Cantabrian company specializing in the bathroom sector. Slate, sand, stone, and gold served as inspiration to create a sink and shower structure that allows for enjoyment with all five senses.
Bathco's Carnac porcelain sink was coated with impalpable chamotte to give it a rough texture. A mixture was ground using sand and Asturian stones sent by the designer. This mixture, along with different pigments, was applied to the sink. To finish it off, small golden touches were painted to pay homage to Marbella's luxury. The wash area was completed with the tall Milos faucet in a bronze finish.
Mar Vidal created a shower structure to which Bathco Atelier artists gave the same finish as the sink. The area was completed with the Milos shower faucet and the Versailles stone and wood shower tray.
“All of this offers a way to play with the materials to give them depth, structure, and to show that the material can round out the project and be used for more than what, at first glance, it might be used for.”Vidal details.
