The oak as the protagonist

Projects, Residential

The oak tree chases this home from the entrance to the top floor after a renovation by Clysa in Barcelona. Wood is present in the kitchen furniture and in many detailed elements throughout the house, creating a space composed of straight, simple lines.

Upon entering this three-story home, we find a kitchen and a spacious entrance hall. Going up to the first floor, we find the bedrooms, and on the top floor, we see a large living room with large windows.

From the studio, they tell us that “The most outstanding component we find upon entering the home is the large slatted oak cabinet that separates the entrance from the kitchen. The fact that these two parts of the house are not separated by a wall helps with the feeling that the rooms are connected.”.

The part of this structure visible upon entering the house is characterized by a series of parallel, vertical slats that wrap around it. Integrated into this piece of furniture, facing the kitchen, are Neff appliances and storage cabinets. This feature not only adds a unique element to the entrance but also brings warmth and a sense of increased height.

In the kitchen, we see the furniture from the Line-E series by Santos in White Sapporo Silk with a peninsula that makes the most of every corner. The countertop was also installed in porcelain SapiensStone In a light earth tone.

To separate the kitchen from the entryway, large sliding doors were installed Albedo which, being transparent glass, keep the spaces visually connected but also divide the rooms sonically.

Oak remains as a connecting thread throughout this home, from the treated stairs leading to the first floor with a glass railing that, once again, unifies spaces.

Finally, changes were made to one of the bathrooms in the house. In it, we incorporated a wall-hung toilet which, in addition to being aesthetically pleasing, takes up less space. The sink area was updated with a panoramic mirror with indirect lighting, perfect for illuminating the face, and a Porcelain washbasin New Cuenca created by the firm Bathco.

Thus, we designed a gray bathroom that stands out for its simplicity and straight lines, while also featuring the most innovative details we've incorporated into it.
