A fisherman's house between sea and design
Projects, ResidentialIn the picturesque coastal town of Colònia de Sant Jordi, Mallorca, Catalina Socias, an interior designer by vocation, has carried out a comprehensive renovation that redefines the essence of one of the oldest fishermen's houses in the region. This project, full of authenticity and love for design, seeks not only to preserve the island identity but also to establish a deep connection with the environment, the majestic Mediterranean Sea.
The beach apartment in Colònia de Sant Jordi becomes a reflection of the Hamptons style, where white and blue stand out as the main colors in this renovation story. Catalina Socias has managed to capture the luminosity and freshness of the Mediterranean through large windows that allow natural light to flood every corner of the house. The choice of natural wood in the furniture reinforces the connection with nature, while unique vintage pieces, imported from Paris, add a distinct personality to the project.
The island identity is maintained with Majorcan-style shutters and the careful preservation of original details, such as the charming sliding door in the kitchen. The decoration becomes a tribute to the sea, with nautical objects and paintings depicting weathered maps, evoking the history and charm of the coastal environment.

The bathroom, one of the highlights of the transformation, reflects a retro style with antique copper-toned mirrors adding originality and warmth to the space. The sinks, part of Bathco's Solid Surface collection, specifically the Piedmont model, They bring modernity and elegance. The custom-built furniture and ceiling lamps complete the picture of a bathroom that masterfully blends vintage with contemporary.

The project not only encompasses aesthetics but also functionality, with meticulous attention to every detail. Every corner tells a story, every element has a purpose, and the result is an exceptional home where design and local identity intertwine harmoniously.
