A home that strikes a balance between the modern and the rural
Projects, ResidentialWe snuck into El Asteiro, a recently built single-family home that is completely blended into the natural paradise that is Asturias, the place where it is located. Mar Vidal from MV Interior Design He was looking for a property to house his family and showcase the style and essence of his studio's brand, and it seems he's achieved it with this residence.

The house consists of a ground floor and a half floor in an L-shape, with all the living area on the upper floor and the sleeping area on the ground floor, which also houses the pool. It is an ideal home for children to grow up in, as it is completely open to the outdoors, allowing you to enjoy mild days, warm summers, and humid winters while feeling the warmth of home and the fireplace.
As if it were a showroom in her studio, Mar Vidal has created a cozy, romantic, and subtly elegant home for this residence surrounded by greenery and fully open to the outdoors. Despite being a new construction (2019), its country-style decor, though distinguished, and antique furnishings provide the home with the perfect balance between novelty and permanence.

“The biggest challenge of this renovation was finding materials with a long lifespan and specifically designed for use in the field with two young children, even with very light colors,” says the interior designer.
Subtle touches of color on a white base form the foundation of this renovation, notable for its use of hydraulic tiles, wallpaper, and decorative moldings throughout the home.
A perfect example of all these characteristics in the construction of this home is the girls“ and guest bathroom, which evokes the freshness and tenderness of childhood in a space that is not only beautiful but also practical and comfortable. ”I wanted a feminine, pink bathroom, fresh yet warm at the same time. I wanted a place where two girls could feel romantic.".

A spacious vanity unit with storage, feminine, in the same pink as the floor, supporting Bathco faucets and sinks. “The faucets give a more futuristic touch to the entire bathroom and the sinks… oh, the sinks! They are the Castellón model from Bathco that I customized to my liking with dots of the same pink as the floor.
This custom sink is created with ceramic decals. An ancient artisanal decoration process that we at Bathco have recovered, thus reinforcing the value of “handmade.”.
