A penthouse with a terrace

The Mediterranean style combined with natural materials is very present in this renovation carried out by Paglialonga Studio in an apartment located on Muntaner street, in the heart of Barcelona's Eixample, with a beautiful 30sqm terrace. Teresa Paglialonga assures that “Its owners entrusted us with the beautiful task of transforming a characterless apartment into their dream home.”.

To find that dream home, “We preserve existing elements of the home to offer character and warmth to the new project proposal. We developed a dynamic and sinuous concept for our clients.”.

We managed to recreate a very Mediterranean space, based on noble and natural materials such as wood, iron, and stone. Furthermore, the use of microcement and natural wood flooring provided us with the ability to make the space very cozy.

A sunny, Mediterranean atmosphere pervades the entire home, enhanced by the use of whites and light tones, as well as noble and natural materials. Furthermore, the 70m2 living space was transformed to house a versatile en-suite walk-in closet, along with an office with views of the entire block.

The floors in the bedroom and dressing room feature an original combination of natural wood and hydraulic tiles. Some parts are original, and others are new, from Mallorcan artisans Huguet. The sliding doors with iron tracks, which separate rooms, are antique doors that were purchased, restored, and adapted.

Above the living room sofa, we find a piece by Joan Saló from Galería N2. The curtains are made of natural linen, traditional and with a ceiling track, creating a very cozy atmosphere. From there, you access a 30-square-meter terrace that has been transformed into a true paradise garden.

In the dining room, we find a custom-made bookshelf by the studio itself. You can also see splendid lamps from Wever & Ducré hanging above the dining table, adding a sophisticated touch.

Throughout the home, abundant, leafy plants can be found, becoming the stars of an interior design in neutral and clear colors that enhance the freshness of the vegetation. The bathroom was no exception, and once again we find vegetal elements next to the sink. Polaris by Bathco Solid Surface.
