Art Suites Santander, the five continents in a single space

The interior design project for these apartments, carried out by interior designer Yolima Sierra Rico, is capable of transporting each guest or visitor to a different continent in each of the rooms. From a savanna sunset to the most cosmopolitan atmosphere of New York City nights, all are recreated in this project.

The apartments Art Suites Santander they maintain the essence of each continent. Therefore, it was decided to personalize the sink for each of them with images that evoked characteristic elements from different parts of the planet. This is how a collection of hand-painted sinks was born, which still surprises visitors today and makes spaces unique and inimitable. The development of the proposals began with the idea that the interior designers presented to the artists, and through the analysis of the rest of the materials, finishes, and details that would complete the decoration.

The artists at the Bathco Workshop sought to capture the magic and unique characteristics of each continent in the restroom area. Colors, textures, vegetation, and more served as inspiration throughout the creative process. The Olea rectangular and Riga sinks served as canvases to bring the most distinctive features of each continent to life.

Yolima Sierra commented that the bathroom inspired by the Antarctica «it was white and it would be great to put a blue sink to add a touch of color against the white.» With this in mind, the inspiration was drawn from the film-like landscapes left by the freezing cold when white melts into blue. That is the point that inspired the interior design of this apartment. Penguin families walking across the miles-long ice floes of these uninhabited landscapes could not be left out.

Asia It is another of the most interesting apartments. The artists at Bathco Atelier wanted to capture the delicacy and subtlety of Asian culture in their sinks. To do this, they used their brushes to draw simple lines depicting bamboo moved by the wind and land elevations that serve as a backdrop to large cities. The result is monochromatic sinks with pure lines that contrast with the explosion of color in the rest of the room.

For the apartment inspired by Africa a piece in orange colors was requested, as those predominated. The bathroom America I was asking for a sink in green and yellow colors with leaves, in a very Caribbean and cheerful style. Europe predominated black and elegant lines, depicting emblematic buildings. For the apartment Oceania A piece was requested that would coordinate with the earthy colors that predominated in the interior design.
