Rosa Colet's bathrooms with personality

Rosa Colet He is an interior designer by profession with over 25 years of experience and his own studio in El Masnou, near Barcelona. Throughout his career, he has worked in two areas. One in the contract channel, designing restaurants, hotels, gyms, and offices, and another in the private sector, undertaking new builds and renovations of homes.

We spoke with the interior designer to get an idea of the importance of bathrooms when renovating a home, and especially when undertaking a remodel of the Holistic house on the Costa Brava.

In your latest project, a complete renovation of a house in Llafranc, the care and personality that the bathrooms acquired are particularly noteworthy. How did you approach this part of the project?

Bathrooms are one of the most important spaces in the home. In this case, the client asked us for a bathroom for several rooms, but after studying the project, we managed to make each of the rooms suites.

We will explain two cases, one being the blue bathroom and the other the green bathroom. In the blue bathroom, we encountered a difficulty, which was obtaining an oval space that would take up as little room as possible in the bathroom. For this very small space, we needed a tiny sink with the faucet on its side, and we achieved this with the Reunión sink, which is made entirely of stone and has a very pleasant texture.

The other bathroom is the green bathroom, and this one also has a peculiarity. We tried to ensure that the entire ceiling and the entire walls maintained the essence of the house as much as possible. The sink, due to its very small dimensions, also required a round space that would perfectly meet the needs of this bathroom.

In this case, Bathco offered us to have a sample of the Atelier Line Rust Sink And we managed to put the same color on all the walls, and we did it in a continuous way with this same blue. That made our work much easier.

What can you highlight about these hand-painted sinks? What can they bring to your projects?

Hand-painted sinks add that artistic touch that we seek in all our projects: bringing in artists to give them their vision as well and add to our proposal. The strategic value in projects and this vision that nothing is improvised. All projects involve work.
