Cevisama 2018, a town that oozes creativity in every one of its streets.

Atelier

Annually, Bathco exhibits at Cevisama, a meeting place for ceramics and bathroom furnishings. For the 2018 stand, Bathco Atelier prepared a hand-painted mural for the Chill Out area.

The Chill Out area at stand N3 P2 B41 is a meeting place for the Cantabrian company and its clients, who, after a long relationship, have become loyal friends. It is here where the latest innovations for the bathroom sector are showcased, the new options offered by materials, and the most creative ways to create new spaces. It is also a place where one can enjoy Cantabrian gastronomy because Bathco remains very mindful of its roots and wishes to showcase them to the entire world.

The artists wanted to capture a landscape with a message in this mural. To do so, they chose a postcard from Cadaqués, the easternmost town on the Iberian Peninsula, which has always faced the Mediterranean Sea. This fishing village has been and continues to be a place that has welcomed great artists such as Marcel Duchamp, Salvador Dalí, Federico García Lorca, and Pablo Picasso.

Maria Centeno and Emeric Minaya Ten square meters of tiles were conceived as a canvas to create a mural that would dress the seafood restaurant at the Cevisama stand. Grilled fish and seafood would be the stars of the table, so the landscape had to be marine, alluding to the salty sea that provides us with top-quality products.

To this, the artistic atmosphere that surrounds the workshop had to be added, and for this reason, Cadaqués was chosen as a town that can be considered the cradle of modern art, given the caliber of its visitors. The blue brushstrokes were responsible for creating an unprecedented image that would teleport visitors to an idyllic place and help them escape the hustle and bustle of a trade fair.
