Trends in decoration 2022

Tips

What we've experienced in the last two years has impacted us more than we realize. Our way of facing life, our customs, and our habits have changed radically, but we hold onto the hope of resuming that necessary social contact at some point. But until then, we need a shelter where we feel safe. Spending so much time at home has made us value its warmth, and that's why we're focusing on improving our spaces.

Now we need a place where we can feel safer than ever with our loved ones and, at the same time, quiet corners where we can dedicate time to ourselves. Work or reading spaces, a comfortable sofa to unwind with the latest series, a well-equipped kitchen, or a bathroom that becomes a wellness sanctuary.

A few years ago, the bathroom went from being a strictly functional and forgotten space in the house where we felt vulnerable to being a place to relax and take time for ourselves. Now, it's taking a step further, and becomes a space that makes us feel good and safe.

To achieve those kinds of spaces, the bet for 2022 leans towards warm minimalism, made up of gentle and noble materials, natural fabrics, neutral tones, organic shapes, handmade pieces, and an exceptional, visually balanced order that brings a lot of peace.

Here are some of the interior design and decoration trends that arrive for this new year and we give you some ideas on how to apply them.

Biophilic designs

We need to reconnect with nature and keep that sense of connection with it, the origin of everything, very present, and that's why they emerge organic shapes in the different elements that make up the bathroom: from the jar for toothbrushes to the washbasin. There is no better way to connect with nature than by using its forms and materials responsibly to create pieces that accompany us in our daily lives.

For this year 2022, we will see a praise for the permanent curve in the environment that reaches the home, being sensitive to comfort and added value. That is why at Bathco we continue to bet on curvy shapes, which are so present in the pieces of catalog MATERIAL.

A good example is the bathrooms that can be found “House behind a wall, a home created by The Mirateca, in which the study Feel the Crama He has created the bathrooms. This is the housing of the influencer Fatima Canto and they installed the sinks there Polaris and Prato from Bathco Solid Surface.

Also, we continue to hear from the millennial are looking for design solutions that revolve around nature to connect with it and improve one's well-being. Organic shapes are always present in the designs of artists from Bathco Atelier as well as the materials that are imitated on the porcelain pieces. Colors inspired by nature and noble materials

If there's anything that achieves relaxed and cozy atmospheres, it's the neutral tones. That's why, if you're thinking about giving your bathroom a makeover, you'll be right on track by applying a soft color palette to the walls and choosing pieces in subtle tones that achieve balance.

For the vanity area, you can opt for the white of the porcelain or the Solid Surface, the beige tone of the natural porcelain, the stone washbasin o the genuineness of wood that we told you about a few months ago on this blog. And it can be paired with accessories in soft pink, earth tones, or light grey, which can be safe options. You can even add moderate contrasting accents in green or blue to reference nature.

Sustainable decor

The global ecological crisis reminds us of the importance of small gestures. That's why we are all moving towards a slightly more eco-friendly lifestyle by choosing to acquire products made from sustainable materials.

Recycled and recyclable sinks to give back to the earth what belongs to it

A good example is the Iron collection of recycled and recyclable cast iron sinks, which we told you about a few months ago on Interview with our Commercial Director, Eduardo López.

The rising value of handmade

There are no more sustainable elements than handmade ones, and that is evident in the sinks and murals created at Bathco Atelier a space that follows the flow of the Slow philosophy.

This is where artistic and artisanal work is revalued through ceramic pieces. These are hand-painted or decorated pieces that capture the personality of the artist or artisan, as well as their story and many hours of work because they have been created unhurriedly and locally.

Industrial materials and subtle reflections

Although it may seem strange at first glance, this year we will see the coexistence of the industrial and the organic integrating with each other. In contrast to the natural finishes we mentioned earlier, stainless steel arrives as a fine and precise material with a subtle and elegant shine that will coexist with neutral tones.

New stainless steel sinks coming soon

For now, we can't reveal much, but soon we will present a new collection of stainless steel sinks that will be added to the MATERIA catalog.
