Fauna in every corner
Projects, ContractThe Cabárceno Nature Park It is neither a conventional zoo nor a nature park. It is a space naturalized by the hand of man, based on the primitive beauty of its karst landscape, on 750 hectares of a former open-pit mine.
This project is one of the most special that the team has developed. Bathco Atelier. The Cabárceno Nature Park is a world-class reference, and the wildlife it houses has proven to be one of the best inspirations for artists.
The Atelier's work enhances the fascinating experience of visiting the Cabárceno facilities by transferring its most representative animals to the bathrooms through ceramic tile illustrations.
The artistic intervention begins with painted footprints on some of the tiles that line the floor, leading us to all the countertop sinks and the wall tiles. “Wherever we look, we will find lions, bison, antelopes, giraffes, or gorillas, among many other animals, observing us, making us feel in a unique and, above all, living space,” affirm the artists who developed the work.
The artists at the Atelier used the different species that inhabit the park as inspiration to begin working, employing the latest technologies applied to ceramics as well as traditional painting based on vitrifiable pigments. Hand-illuminated pencil sketches, computer design programs, Japanese paintbrushes, oil mixtures, powdered colors, and the magic of high-temperature kilns have been useful in representing the animals in various attitudes and with a loose drawing style and watercolor wash that play at populating the space.
In this project, it was included the Olea rectangular sink, The Urinary Wave and the sanitary New Ronda. In the adapted bathroom, the Brussels sink and the New Ronda toilet.
