How to create a home
Projects, ResidentialCris and Luis are from Seville and decided to buy a home in their hometown to turn it into their new abode. They embarked on a comprehensive renovation that was delayed by the pandemic but finally saw the light of day in 2021.
It's a three-story house that we've seen transform through its Instagram profile Sebgom 28 – Home Sweet Home. The owners decided that the ground floor would be designated as the living area, the first floor housed the sleeping area, and the attic accommodates the laundry room and provides access to a terrace for enjoying the good Sevillian weather.
Hallway
Upon entering the dwelling, we find ourselves in a hallway where the stairs leading to the first floor, the door to the restroom, and the living room are located.
“We'd wanted to put a bench under the coat rack in the entryway for a while, but none of the ones we liked were quite right. That's when we thought about buying an IKEA Kallax shelving unit and adapting it to our needs – in this case, making it into a bench.
We bought those ideal legs and the wood for the top at Leroy Merlin and some wicker baskets from Ikea too and This is how it turned out.
Downstairs bathroom
Cris tells us that the first-floor bathroom “turned out even more beautiful than we imagined and, best of all, practical, which was our main goal.” They chose non-rectified matte white tiles, and the floors are inspired by typical hydraulic tiles. Regarding the white wall-hung vanity and wooden countertop... IKEA was placed Bari sink by Bathco. For the shower tray, they chose a glass shower screen with a black frame.
Details in the living room
To create a cozy living room, they chose a sofa made of Soofa, cushions Zara Home, coffe table IKEA and tray and candles H&M Home. “The living room is taking shape and it's finally looking cozy, it's starting to look like a home, and we couldn't be happier.”.
At the back of the plant, they closed off the two side windows to make space for what will be the kitchen. They decided to keep only the large picture window. As they wanted light to pass into the living room, they opted for an enclosure. See before and after.
Kitchen
Separated from the living room by a half-height partition, the white kitchen is located. Want to see the before and after? Slide.

Bedroom
There are still many details left, but the couple already has the most important things in the master bedroom to add warmth.
Restored nightstands were placed on either side of the bed. The owner tells us that “A while ago I came across these bedside tables and since they were in good condition, I decided to keep them, though I did give them a good makeover. I painted them with chalk effect paint, the top part was a little bit worn and I decided to put a wooden board on it, and to finish and save as much as possible, we made the handles ourselves from a mop handle.”.

First floor bathroom
For the first-floor bathroom, they chose unrectified matte white tiles, with one wall featuring a subtle relief. The tiles, shower tray, and Bari sink are the same as those on the ground floor, but the flooring is mosaic in gray tones.“You can't imagine the work it took us to find him, but it was totally worth it.”.
Laundry room
On the top floor is the laundry room for which they wanted“everything's very simple, white with touches of wood and the black touch of the faucet, which I think is the best part”.
Terrace
To enjoy the pleasant Sevillian weather, they have a terrace that is accessed from the laundry room. To renovate the area, they removed the small tower and the stairs to achieve a larger space and have a more comfortable and functional staircase. They opted for porcelain flooring in ash gray color to best conceal dust and dirt, and for the ledge, they took a chance with marble-look tiles.
