Passive construction
Projects, ResidentialSophistication and elegance coexist with the natural light of this home. .
The My House Magazine Publish the studio's latest project Juka Interior Design who has been in charge of the interior design of this home located in the historic center of Murcia.
With its classic and timeless design, this home offers equal parts comfort and elegance. Its comprehensive renovation allowed it to be built according to Passivhaus standards, which maintain ideal indoor conditions while achieving energy savings ranging from 70% to 90% compared to a conventional home. This makes it the first passive house located in the area around Murcia Cathedral.
The interior design work focused on a few key elements used in all rooms: fine wood, indirect lighting, and moldings.
A solid natural oak herringbone parquet floor looks solemn throughout the home, even in the bathrooms and kitchen. Apart from the living room rug, the rest of the rooms boast the splendor and shine of this natural flooring.

The living room, dining room, and kitchen share a single space, a total area of 40 m2, which is bright thanks to its large windows and well-designed lighting, including indirect lighting on the floor and in recessed ceilings.
In the living room area, a curved plywood wall stands out. Two rectangular niches discreetly house the television and fireplace. Indirect lighting along the entire perimeter of this wall accentuates the warmth of the wood and brings more life to the space. The dark brown of the wall contrasts with the soft tones of a rug, sofa, and ottoman in a natural raw fabric, as well as with the soft pearly gray of the walls, ceilings, and the rear bookshelf.
Subtle elegance in the kitchen
The kitchen is elegantly integrated into the living-dining room thanks to handleless white cabinetry and an island made of porcelain with a natural marble effect and brown veins. The golden faucet adds the necessary elegance.

A spacious and bright hallway
The home features a large hallway that leads from the entrance to the bedrooms and the living area. The sense of spaciousness has been created through very strong indirect lighting and the contrast of pearly gray and wood brown.

One of the walls continues to the day area in plywood. On this wall, the baseboard is high and made of 3D moldings in its original white, which adds more brightness. The other wall of the hallway is white and hides some storage cabinets. The piano has been placed in front of the window, where part of the ceiling has been recessed to form a large light fixture.

In the sleeping area, the three bedrooms of the home maintain harmony with the timeless style of the entire apartment. In the master bedroom, the wardrobes emulate a white wall, thanks to the absence of handles. A vanity with a round mirror is located on the other side of the bed; here, the wall has been covered with wallpaper featuring a black and white semicircle pattern.
Behind the headboard, different profiles form two rectangles as decorative moldings, giving it a classic and refined look.
The other two, more youthful rooms, have been furnished with custom-made furniture, including wardrobes that are discreetly hidden and desks that run wall to wall.
In the bathroom, wood finishes are combined with black and white elements, all under carefully studied lighting that highlights each piece. Olea rectangular sink You can see it on a black wall-mounted cabinet, as well as the bidet and the wall-hung toilet New Toledo.
