Tasting room

Projects, Contract

Marta Sánchez Zornoza's space for Casa Decor 2022 pays tribute to Ron Matusalem on its 150th anniversary. The interior designer talks about the concept of this space«We have decided to share his philosophy in a sensory space that transports us to that Caribbean. The theme of the project is a striking tasting room, with a bar, a bench, and three zones that lead to different sensations related to the rums presented by Matusalem. In addition, we translate the value of aging into interior design with floor rehabilitation techniques and reused materials.«.

Trends, innovation, and materials

Lightened stone, warm lighting, and the rehabilitation of materials. Stone, the main element of the project, represents timelessness and sophistication, and has been chosen in toasted, green, and white tones that evoke liquor, the sea, and light. The building's original terrazzo and hydraulic tiles symbolize the luxurious decadence typical of Cuban palaces. All accompanied by domotic scenes.

Sustainable contribution

The project aligns with the philosophy of sustainability and cyclicality through respect for the original soils of the dwelling, the reuse of broken tiles, as well as glass bottles and doors to create the main element of the space: a patchwork bench that forms a sculpture full of history.

Bathco Product

Interior designer Marta Sánchez Zornoza was clear that she wanted a special piece for the tasting room, so she sent some hexagonal tiles in copper tones as inspiration to the artists at Bathco Atelier. After several color tests on different models, they opted for a sink in copper tones painted by the artists next to the valve. Complete the set with the Milos Ref. 18093 faucet (Bathco 2022 novelty), which we will tell you more about soon.
