The evolution of a family business through interior design

In 1928, the Droguería Central opened its doors in the charming town of Pravia (Asturias). A family business that has evolved over generations to this day. With the decision to change locations, the owners placed their trust in Trigo Studio to design their new workspace. It includes a shop with perfumes, accessories, and adornments, as well as a body and facial care area with four cabins.

Aware of the responsibility that comes with the history of Central Beauty, Trigo Studio took on the challenge of capturing the business's journey and values by combining tradition with contemporary elements.

With the freedom granted by the owner, curved lines were included in the design, and warm colors and natural materials like wood, marble, and iron were chosen. Creating a pleasant and neutral atmosphere that highlights the true protagonist: the product.

As the focal point of the store, a counter was designed with curved lines and salmon-colored latticework. It integrates seamlessly and harmonizes with the frieze and the fitting room doors. Lighting plays a fundamental role in the design, and a lighting study was conducted to highlight the products and create different pleasant ambiances. Decorative lamps and sconces were combined, such as a lamp above the counter and alabaster sconces. With subtle technical lighting, such as large-format rings above the tables, spotlights, and LED strips.

In the cabins, spaces designated for relaxation and personal care, the warm color palette was maintained. Wallpaper and indirect lighting were incorporated, perfect for promoting a state of relaxation. In one of the cabins, a niche was designed to house a Viena countertop sink by BATHCO. Its curved and delicate lines integrate perfectly into the created atmosphere.

This project represented quite a challenge for Trigo Studio, but the clients' satisfaction has been worth it after months of hard work and nerves.

The result is a space that pays homage to Central Beauty's history and tradition, while incorporating contemporary design elements to provide a unique customer experience.
