Egue and Seta's new conception of luxury

Stories

Bathco and the interior design studio Egue y Seta have teamed up to participate in Casa Decor 2023 with a space that is out of the ordinary for this event. If you look up Egue y Seta, you'll see they always describe themselves as an interior design firm “that designs more with their ears than their hands,” and that this is reflected in all their projects, giving them a differentiating factor.

“A large part of our contribution and approach that the firm brings to its projects comes from knowing how to listen. We don't lecture our clients; we believe that what is distilled in our projects is the particular taste of our clients, and that's what sets us apart from the rest because they have their own personality. They are not anchored to fads or trends,” tell us Felipe and Diana, interior designers at Egue y Seta.

Does this mean Egue and Seta don't have a predefined style?

Our style is that of our clients; their tastes are what are conveyed in the spaces we create. However, saying this might be a bit naive because there are constants that are undoubtedly appreciable across all of our projects.

It's not a color, a style, or the use of certain architectural elements, and we believe it has to do with a conception of luxury that is a bit more relaxed, more inclusive. Linking luxury to versatility and trying to achieve beauty and appeal through more everyday means that don't involve so much investment.

It's a bit what we've tried to do with the Bathco Space at Casa Decor 2023 and I think we've done it.

DISCOVER THE BATHCO SPACE AT CASA DECOR 2023

Continuing with the space created for Casa Decor with Bathco, you have designed a bathroom that is a statement for restoring the importance of this space, both stylistically and socially, within homes. Does the bathroom always have such importance in your projects?

The bathroom is essential in projects; there's no dwelling without one or two spaces dedicated to it, making it an indispensable area. It's true that the bathroom has always received special treatment as a strictly private room, but this has been changing over the years, and it's being given more special attention. It's becoming more associated with a space for relaxation rather than hygiene, and we want it to also regain its social function, as it had in past eras.

In many of your projects, you work with Bathco. How would you define the brand? Why do you choose their products for your projects?

For us, Bathco is perfect because it has a very broad stylistic range. It has pieces that fit many of the trends currently seen in projects, but it has also never entirely abandoned the great classics. Therefore, the range of options it offers is very convenient and versatile.

On the other hand, the level of customization offered by Atelier artists is certainly something to be valued. We often miss these types of profiles in the office that you can convey something to and that they can represent it because it gives you much more versatility when creating.

Now that you have worked hand-in-hand with the artists at the Bathco Atelier, what has your experience been like? Was there anything that particularly surprised you about collaborating on this project?

Undoubtedly, we weren't aware until we arrived at Casa Decor that they had such an important team of artisans and people with fine arts studies who could convey so adequately everything that we have in our minds and what we wanted to express in our space, and I believe that after this, we will keep them very much in mind for projects with a lot of personality and that have very specific styles.
