The Titanic docks in Santander

Santander's Plaza Porticada has been chosen as the site for the construction of a nearly 1,000-square-meter tent that will house the largest Titanic reconstruction ever built.

Another of the exhibition's attractions Titanic: The Reconstruction, Sponsored by Bathco, it is a reproduction of the first and second-class bathrooms of the ship of dreams, including washbasins, mahogany furniture, faucets, bathrobes, and towels. These pieces, which are celebrating their second anniversary, are encompassed under the name Titanic Collection by Bathco.

The bathrooms of the Titanic, a research project

In July 2015, the president of the Titanic Foundation, Jesús Ferreiro, decided to reproduce, among other areas of the ship, one of the first and second-class cabins, highlighting the bathrooms to incorporate them into the exhibition. Titanic, the Reconstruction. For this, he relied on the Cantabrian company after meeting its CEO, José López, at an art exhibition.

After months of intensive research, development, and preparation, the Bathco team, with the collaboration of the prestigious designer Pascual Salvador, managed to develop a replica of the bathrooms on the famous ship. Old photographs and plans from 1912 provided by the Foundation were the basis for creating the new designs adapted to today's needs.

The replica turned into a collection

 The work Bathco developed to create the replica of the Titanic's bathrooms does not end with the exhibition. The Cantabrian company decided to offer this collection for sale under the name Titanic Collection by Bathco.

“We've recaptured the best of that era in the collection Titanic Collection by Bathco, a series of sinks and different accessories – mahogany furniture, faucets, bathrobes, and towel sets – that faithfully reproduce the first and second-class bathrooms of the transatlantic liner,” states José López, who has been the architect of this initiative.

Splendor, luxury, and sophistication were the concepts that prevailed in the design of each element, connected with the most modernist currents of the time.

Bathco can boast of being the first and only company in the world to make it possible for anyone who wishes to have a replica of the Titanic's bathrooms in their home.

Titanic, the reconstruction arrives in Santander

After hosting numerous visitors in cities like Granada, León, Bilbao, Barcelona, and Vigo; Titanic, the Reconstruction arrives in Santander thanks to Bathco, its main sponsor. After its stay in the Cantabrian capital, it will begin its European and American journey.

At the exhibition, you can see original tools and reproductions that were used in the construction of this iconic vessel, which disappeared in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean during his first and only trip, between Southampton and New York. Among the reproductions are first and second class restrooms developed by Bathco and that the Titanic Foundation has managed to set them up in such a way that they seem to transport the visitor to the cabins of the famous ship.

Those who have visited this exhibition in other cities claim that it is a sensory experience that, using the senses, transports the visitor to the year 1912 and embarks them on the Ship of Dreams. This exhibition allows you to enjoy the ship's incredible facilities and even witness the painful stories that happened on board, told by those who lived them.
