What are hotel bathrooms like?

Trends

Just like homes, hotel bathrooms have gained significant importance in recent years, taking on the same prominence as the room itself. This space is no longer seen as merely practical; instead, it's sought after as a haven of peace and relaxation, as confirmed by interior designer Natalia Zubizarreta in our interview for Historias.

The interior designer assured that “When I go to a hotel, the bathroom is one of the spaces I pay the most attention to, to see if the hotel has quality and if there was a good design. Because sometimes an effort is made in common areas, but in the bathroom, they sometimes fall short because it always feels cold. For me, a bathroom needs to be very warm and inviting, thanks to the materials and lighting, which will give it that warm touch so it's practical yet very cozy.”.

To achieve peaceful spaces that visitors wish to return to, many hotel groups and establishments opt for sensory designs based on neutral and warm tones, natural textures, fine wood furniture, etc.

To see these designs, we delved into hotel rooms where the interior design has been particularly carefully considered to offer unique experiences.

Marble as a fundamental material

The “Porcelain” studio, through its department Porcelain Project renovated the emblematic hotel Macedonia Palace in Thessaloniki. This hotel, which has been in operation for 60 years, is considered one of the most famous and prestigious hotels in Greece.

Its renovation and modernization radically changed its image, choosing quality and aesthetically pleasing products. Marble became very important, very present in the bathrooms of the rooms where one can see the Rectangular Olea sink by Bathco.

Amplitude to the bathroom

In the southwest of the island of Mallorca lies a little piece of paradise called Camp de Mar, a village with spectacular views of the bay. There you will find Bahía Camp de Mar Suites.

Given the impressive views, the intention was to emphasize the large windows that invite you to enjoy the sea breeze in each of the rooms. The bathroom access doors were installed as sliding doors to avoid obstructing these views, thus interior designer Joan Toni Martí creates spaces full of spaciousness and light.

Limit Diluted

The line between the bathroom and the bedroom is unclear in the Hotel Dunas Blancas. With the clear objective of creating comfortable and Mediterranean-style rooms, the rectangular Dinan washbasin is placed on the same surface as the desk, creating multi-purpose spaces.

Sustainable rooms

When conceiving the Hotel Orangine, The Amara Hotels chain was very clear that it wanted to offer a unique hotel experience characterized by good taste and adhering to all precepts of sustainability and good practice. To achieve this, the hotel uses renewable energy and works with ecological products. Furthermore, the interior design project included natural materials and a layout that takes advantage of natural light.

Functional and aesthetic

Functionality can be functional and aesthetic without having to justify it. There shouldn't be a barrier. In the case of Yurbban Hotels, they manage to create this pack of aesthetics and functionality without justifying or creating barriers between the two concepts. This is how interior designer Raquel Sogorb assured us when we asked her about Hotel interior design

Want to see that union of concepts? Visit the hotels Yurbban Passage and Trafalgar.

Romantic and lonely

The Faro de Isla Pancha Invite to sleep with the immensity of the sea at your feet and under the shelter of the stars, in an isolated, solitary place that invites reflection and awakens romance. Few places have the ability to bring together so many characteristics, and one of them is lighthouses.
