Wood and warm tones in a house renovation
Projects, ResidentialThe owners of this house in Getxo entrusted in56interiorismo to completely renovate their lifelong home with a single condition: that its original essence and warmth be maintained.
Whenever the in56interiorismo team takes on a comprehensive project, they feel “obligated to create a home with personality that accommodates the needs of its inhabitants. That's why attending to every last detail is absolutely essential for the space to have its own identity.”.
This way, when facing the project Orah House, the interior design team was clear that “its essence and warmth had to be maintained. To achieve this, we used natural wood as the main element and incorporated oak and walnut in all the rooms in different forms.” Furthermore, they are aware of the importance of efficiently distributing spaces and creating custom furniture that makes the most of every available corner, as can be seen in this project.
The presence of wood clearly visible in the living room for which it was created, “a custom-made TV unit with a metal structure and illuminated wooden shelves. At the bottom, a suspended cabinet that hides drawers. And we've paired it with the beautiful paintings by Elisa Beltrán and an extendable coffee table that can be adjusted to different heights.
Next to the living room, we find a toilet where we opted to hide it behind a slatted sliding door and wallpapered the interior with washable wallpaper. Casamance. Additionally, we complemented it with vertical and horizontal metal strips, just like the living room furniture. For the sink, the model was chosen Matte black porcelain mug by Bathco.
The cabinetmaking work is still present in the master bedroom of Casa Orah, where “we designed a wardrobe with slatted doors that hides the bathroom door on one side. We opted for a lacquered finish in the same color as the walls throughout the house.”.
In this bathroom, a perfect balance is achieved thanks to its formal simplicity without sacrificing warmth and comfort. A suspended countertop was installed two Carnacs with recessed faucets.
Upon leaving the master bedroom, we encounter the hallway where the doors have a lot of prominence. Although they might seem like elements that go unnoticed, in56 highlights that “doors that don't match the design of the surrounding space can detract from well-done work. That's why, we adjust all spaces from the global to the minimum detail”.
This distributor provides access to the third bathroom in the house where we find the Toulouse porcelain sink. From the studio, they emphasize that “we want each space to be an invitation to relax and disconnect at home,” and they've achieved this in this bathroom, which “conveys calm and serenity through light and materials.”.
Once again, we see the presence of wood that unifies the entire house, an element that continues to be present in the stairs where the importance given to the lighting. Interior designers comment that “staircases are sometimes the most difficult or complex spaces to light, but as we always tell you, light can create atmospheres and radically change the appearance of a space.”.
