Santander, September 8, 2016. One year ago, the company specialized in the design, manufacturing, and marketing of bathroom products announced the launch of Bathco Atelier, a unique initiative that, for the first time, links the world of art with the ceramics and bathroom decoration sector. Now the time has come to showcase the results of these months of research and development.
The launch of an artistic creation and experimentation area within the company has allowed eight artists to generate ideas, work on new designs, create, and experiment with the possibilities offered by paints and their fusion with other materials such as iron particles, sandstones, crystals, etc.
This collaborative project has succeeded in bringing a personal touch and a unique way of living and understanding art to each piece that comes out of this workshop's kiln. So much so that the work developed here has gone further and has begun to develop “ad hoc” projects where artistic intervention ranges from the sink to completely flooding spaces through the development of ceramic murals.
The new catalog explains what the Bathco Atelier is, conceived as a laboratory that carries out an artistic process produced entirely in Santander, the city where the company is headquartered.
This catalog explains the different lines of work currently being developed at the Bathco Atelier, which has resulted in two very distinct product types.
On the one hand, Atelier projects offers the opportunity for everyone seeking something unique and unrepeatable to bring art into their own space. When an idea is born in the studio of the architect, designer, interior designer, etc., it is passed on to the Atelier artists, who begin a process of experimentation, playing with colors and materials until they reach a final result. They turn the concepts over and over and materialize the idea. Thus, three examples emerge that can be seen in the publication: a family home, a winery in Spain, and an oceanographic museum.
Secondly, we present Atelier Collection, Bathco's most exclusive collection. The Sicilia sink becomes a canvas, intervened by the workshop's artists who express their most personal style through different techniques. This group of artists, starting from a single concept, presents eight completely different points of view that bring fourteen unique pieces to life. This encapsulates a diversity that turns each piece into a work of art.
To conclude the catalog, a very special packaging is presented, exclusively designed for this collection. An original case personalized with the motif of each sink and the artist's signature. Furthermore, as with any artistic piece, it comes with accreditation regarding the originality of the work, its careful artisanal process, and the corresponding numbering for the limited edition.
