Cantabria was the only Spanish Autonomous Community present at the EXPO CIHAC 2015 Fair held in Mexico last week, which is considered the most important trade fair in Latin America for the Auxiliary Construction Industry sector. Eight companies participated in Sodercan's stand, four of which already have a strong presence in the Aztec country. The companies participating in the Cantabrian trade mission had the opportunity to conduct busy schedules of meetings prepared by the permanent delegation of the Cantabria Regional Development Society in the Mexican capital. For its part, the Director of International Promotion and Development of Sodercan, Víctor Gijón, who accompanied the mission, held a working breakfast with about twenty Mexican investors and entrepreneurs interested in learning about business opportunities in Cantabria.
The trade mission that traveled to Mexico last week is the first to take place as part of the new internationalization project for Cantabrian companies designed by SODERCAN. The Cantabrian Regional Development Society facilitated the participation of eight companies from the Auxiliary Construction Industry sector in the EXPO CIHAC 2015 Fair. These companies include machinery and equipment manufacturers, materials suppliers, and other providers that are part of the sector's production chain. In the pavilion provided by SODERCAN for the participating companies, their products were showcased and exhibited by small companies with extensive innovative backgrounds, such as Carpintería Manuel Sierra, as well as large business conglomerates, such as Grupo Tirso, represented by two of its companies - Tirso CSA (steel service center) and Hierros y Metales Tirso, S. A. (steelworks) - or Codelse (telecommunications and security).
Four of the companies present at the Cantabria stand already have an open market in Mexico. These are the bathroom equipment manufacturer Bathco, which presented collections developed specifically for the Cantabrian company by Spanish designers David Delfín and Javier Mariscal; Grato Parquet, dedicated to the manufacture of wooden floors, which has a subsidiary in Mexico; the elevator company IMEM; and Puertas Roper, a company dedicated to the manufacture of metal doors which also has a subsidiary in the Aztec capital.
The EXPO CIHAC Fair had the participation of more than 500 exhibitors who presented their best products, technologies, and innovations from the auxiliary sector of the construction industry in Mexico.
