José López Cortés, CEO of Bathco, will be appointed honorary patron of the Titanic Foundation.
Due to Bathco's research, development, and preparation work in reproducing the first and second-class bathrooms of the famous ship, the Titanic Foundation has decided to name José López Cortés an honorary patron.
Journal
In July 2015, Bathco decided to embark on the famous ship's adventure through its Foundation by reproducing the bathrooms of the first and second-class cabins. Old photographs and plans from 1912 were the basis for creating new designs that have been adapted to today's needs and have resulted in the Titanic Collection by Bathco.
The journey does not end here, as Bathco has continued to accompany the Titanic Foundation on its national tour. The exhibition “Titanic, the Reconstruction,” which features replicas of the bathrooms, began in Granada and then moved to León, Bilbao, and Barcelona. In October 2017, the exhibition docked in Santander and continued to Gijón, where it will remain until Friday, January 12th.
In this city, a series of events will be held to mark the closing of the exhibition in Asturias, including the appointment of the new honorary patron of the Titanic Foundation, José López Cortés.
The CEO of the company specializing in the bathroom sector joins other personalities who are already part of the Foundation's Hall of Fame: Clive Palmer, president of Blue Star Line, Vicente Zaragüeta, president of the San Sebastian Aquarium and an exemplary dean of European Aquariums, Princess Elettra Marconi, daughter of Guglielmo Marconi, Ernesto Páramo, creator and director of the Granada Science Park, and Enrique López Veiga, president of the Port Authority of Vigo.
The replica turned into a collection
Bathco revived the best of that era in the Titanic Collection by Bathco, a series of sinks and various accessories—mahogany furniture, faucets, bathrobes, and towel sets—that faithfully reproduce the first and second-class bathrooms of the transatlantic liner.
Splendor, luxury, and sophistication were the concepts that prevailed in the design of each element, connected with the most modernist currents of the time.
Through this collection, Bathco makes it possible for anyone to have a replica of the Titanic's bathrooms and any of their accessories in their home.
