Warm spaces by Marta Estarriol

Marta Estarriol Interiorismo is the professional commitment of Marta Estarriol, who took the initiative to open her own studio in Figueras (Girona) in 2018. She comprehensively manages interior design and decoration projects in the commercial, hospitality and housing sectors.

All of her projects reflect the timeless, elegant style and love for details that have become a hallmark of the studio. Always looking for warmth and turning spaces into very pleasant places where you can feel very comfortable is Marta’s great objective.

Many of your projects are homes and this means adapting to the tastes and needs of clients. How do you find the balance to cover that without giving up on being true to your style?

Well, people nowadays between Instagram, Pinterest… come up with a bunch of images. “I want this, this and this”, you try to pick it up, order it and guide them, always being faithful to what they ask of you. What happens is that building a house for a 20-year-old couple is not the same as building a house for another 70-year-old who retires and goes to the mountains.

So we do a bit of everything. Yes, we have a style with noble colors and materials, but we adapt quite a bit to the client.

The adaptability of Marta Estarriol’s studio is reflected in all her projects in which she advises, directs and designs. In most of her projects, the bathroom area is very relevant, where Marta opted for products from the Bathco catalogue.

What is your opinion of Bathco and its products?

I like it a lot because when you design a home, sometimes they don’t let you do many things and it can get boring. So I tried looking for different products and at Bathco I found what I wanted: washbasins with a beautiful, functional design, with a very different finish that gives it a super special touch at a very competitive price.

It is a brand that gives me confidence. I find it quite different from what is on the market. Without being something extravagant, but you are different and it is of quality.

A sample of the warmth in the bathroom room is shown in the NE House project, one of Marta’s first projects. “It was for a young couple with a very old house who wanted something super modern and very functional.” Microcement, porcelain and wood are present in this bathroom where the natural porcelain Toulouse sink has been installed on a custom-designed piece of furniture and next to a large mirror that projects light.

In the CX house project, a house with all open spaces, the great challenge was the suite in which the sink is integrated into the room. The natural porcelain Toulouse sink was installed in a minimalist and simple way, but very warm.

In the MD house, a house in the mountains that underwent a partial renovation, two New Cuenca sinks in natural porcelain were installed in the bathroom area, showing the purity and simplicity of the space.

And finally, we would like to highlight the Pis Aribau project, which is a very small, but very beautiful apartment, where the natural porcelain Carnac sink has been installed, which was perfectly integrated with the wooden finishes of the entire apartment.

Marta also traveled from Girona to visit our Atelier workshop where she was very impressed with the techniques and hands of our artists.

“Well, I didn’t know, I find it incredible how you work and I find it super interesting. In fact, when you come to places like this and see these things, you really want to think of something, design it and be able to carry it out. It’s very interesting.”
