The evolution of a family business through interior design

In the year 1928, in the charming town of Pravia (Asturias), the Central Drugstore opened its doors. A family business that has evolved throughout the generations until today. With the decision to change locations, the owners placed their trust in Trigo Studio to design their new workspace. It includes a store with perfumes, accessories, and complementary products, as well as an area for body and facial care with four cabins.

Aware of the responsibility that comes with the history of Central Beauty, Trigo Studio took on the challenge of capturing the journey and values of the business by combining tradition with contemporary elements.

With the freedom granted by the owner, the design opted for curved lines and warm colors, as well as natural materials such as wood, marble, and iron. This created a pleasant and neutral environment that highlights the true protagonist: the products.

As the focal point of the store, a counter was designed with curved lines and salmon-colored paneling. It seamlessly integrates and harmonizes with the frieze and cabin doors. Lighting plays a fundamental role in the design, and a lighting study was conducted to showcase the products and create different pleasant environments. Decorative lamps and wall sconces were combined, such as a lamp above the counter and alabaster wall sconces. Subtle technical lighting, such as large-format rings above the tables, spotlights, and LED strips, were also incorporated.

In the cabins, spaces dedicated to relaxation and personal care, the warm color palette was maintained. Wallpaper and indirect lighting were added, creating a perfect ambiance for relaxation. In one of the cabins, a niche was designed to house a Viena countertop basin by BATHCO. Its delicate and curved lines seamlessly integrate into the created environment.

This project represented a challenge for Trigo Studio, but the satisfaction of the clients has made the months of hard work and nerves worthwhile.

The result is a space that pays tribute to the history and tradition of Central Beauty while incorporating contemporary design elements to provide a unique experience for customers.
