Beyond porcelain

Tips

Centuries, even millennia of history support a broad knowledge of porcelain and its characteristics. The durability and versatility of this material have made it indispensable in the bathroom from ancient times to the present day.

But bathrooms aren't just clad in porcelain; many materials are just as water-resistant and can last as a sink for a long time.

We're sneaking into some of the homes created by Prêt-à-porter Studio, the interior design team of Ready-to-Wear Houses and we went into the bathroom to see how they managed to integrate sinks of different materials in the different environments.

Solid Surface Sinks

Solid Surface stands out for its durability and attractive matte finish, achieved through a composition with thermal characteristics that give it translucency and whiteness.

This high-tech material allows for clean lines, luminosity, and simple geometries. Furthermore, it uses white, the same color that has always been present in our bathrooms, to create new forms, pay homage to existing ones, and introduce necessary evolutions.

For the bathrooms The Olympia The interior design team at Prêt-à-porter Studio selected pieces to create stylishly designed spaces.

They themselves tell that“In the bathroom within the suite, black is the predominant color. Elegant tiles and circular elements lend it a stately touch.”For this space, two were chosen Trieste sinks Bathco on black furniture with a wooden countertop.

On the other hand, “one of the powder rooms is blue, with a rustic touch that exudes freshness”On a suspended wooden countertop, the Polaris washbasin with recessed faucets and a steel siphon.

The Trieste sink is once again the chosen one to equip the bathroom of another home. In this case, “This bathroom combines very special lighting with touches of natural wood and black fixtures.”All these unique details“they make a house into your home, your refuge. A space where you feel comfortable”.

Trieste Washbasin

At Thyme We see a different and very useful concept. By including the sink in the bedroom and next to the dressing room, daily grooming routines will be more comfortable.

On a suspended piece of furniture, the Polaris washbasin with aged bronze faucets and siphon.

Interior designers tell us that “On the first floor of La Farigola there are two rooms, one with a walk-in closet, and a bathroom. The master bedroom, designed for rest, tranquility, and comfort, has a walk-in closet and a vanity. And what makes it one of the most magical rooms is the L-shaped opening to the outside to enjoy the views offered by the landscape..”

Stone sinks

Stone is the perfect example of combining craftsmanship with mechanical processes using the latest technology tools. These methods, combined with the best raw materials, achieve extremely high-quality, practically unique pieces.

At The Mediterranean We see a bathroom with a large window overlooking the sea, letting in natural light. On a tiled cabinet with steel faucets, we see the Bathco Bali countertop basin opting for a minimalist aesthetic.

The stone is still very present in this “Special bathroom that adds personality to the entire home”. On this occasion, it was chosen Black Java pedestal sink. This is a piece of polished stone in the basin and bush-hammered at the base, showing a more grayish tone.

Porcelain sinks

To conclude this tour of these very special bathrooms, we return to the beginning, to porcelain.
But on this occasion, to the porcelain with the matte gray finish of the model Dinan. Here we see it on a suspended vanity and with original patterned tiling.
