This raw gem of interior design, in the form of a 150m2 penthouse, patiently awaited its transformation until someone turned to the interior design team at Nice Home Bcn to unlock its true potential. The penthouse had a peculiar layout, with long corridors and two floors, filled with dark furniture, old fixtures, and an enclosed terrace with aluminum. The result was a space devoid of charm, oppressive, and lacking appeal.
Designer Dara, upon observing the property, envisioned the potential hidden behind those walls and furnishings. This gave birth to the project that would completely change the appearance and functionality of the place.
The original structure of the home was mostly retained, but the decision was made to transform the living-dining area following the OPEN CONCEPT philosophy. A unique space was created that integrated the living room, dining area, and kitchen, connecting these spaces with a beautiful open terrace to gain light and panoramic views.
Custom-made furniture was designed, such as the impressive bookcase with a fireplace and the kitchen, to ensure that each piece fit perfectly into the space. Where the kitchen used to be, a spacious double bathroom was installed, featuring two New Lys washbasins.
All the ceilings were opened up to achieve a height of over 3 meters, classic cornices were installed, and a natural oak wood floor was chosen. The old wooden interior carpentry with period details was meticulously restored, and all doorknobs were replaced.
The narrow old staircase leading to the upper floor was opened up and modernized. On the upper floor, a new room was created, a small bathroom where a Mini Lys washbasin fit perfectly, and a custom laundry area, from which one could enjoy views of the sea and another wonderful terrace with a 360-degree panoramic view.
In the bathrooms, antique bathroom furniture was carefully selected and custom-made. In fact, in a third bathroom with a Nilo washbasin, rustic-style fixtures were installed. Every detail of this home was meticulously cared for and turned into a unique and special feature.
The chosen style for the home is timeless, with rustic and classic touches that incorporate elements like wood, iron, and natural textiles such as linen.
Thanks to this interior design project, the spectacular penthouse has been transformed into a true gem, revealing its hidden potential and charm.
